Set within a private concession in the heart of Hwange National Park, Somalisa Acacia focuses on safari experiences for families.

Somalisa Acacia is located to the edge of an Acacia Grove overlooking the famous Kennedy vlei-line. Frequented by large herds of elephants, Somalisa Acacia’s main attraction is sitting within feet of the elephants drinking from the cool waters of a small waterhole.

Positioned alongside the famous Somalisa Camp, known as ‘the home of the elephants’, this charming camp caters for an intimate gathering of only 8 people. Two sail tents and two family units are charmingly styled with glass wood-burner fireplaces, gauze sliding doors and decadent vintage baths with views. The family units have inter-leading walkways between the parents and children’s rooms. Central areas include a cosy dining tent and lounge overlooking the waterhole, and a splash pool is ideal for cooling off during sunny days.

With over 108 mammal species and over 400 species of birds Hwange National Park has has one of the highest animal diversities of any National Park on the planet.

Special bird life sightings include racket tail rollers, pied babblers, crimson breasted shrike (yellow-morph genetic), bradfields hornbill and Kori Bustard.

Added Extras

Somalisa Acacia can be booked in conjuntion with Somalisa Camp to cater for larger groups of up to 20 people. A private guide and tour leader facility is available on special request.
