Chilo Gorge Safari Lodge is located on a gorge overlooking the Save River and Gonarezhou National Park. 

Gonarezhou is located in Zimbabwe’s south east corner and is the country’s second largest national park covering just over 5,000 square kilometres. 

Chilo Gorge Safari Lodge offers luxurious accommodation for twenty guests in ten elegant lodges. Each lodge offers its own private balcony, en suite bathroom with spacious shower and separate w.c., mini bar, mini safe and tea & coffee facilities.

The Main Lodge, constructed in stone, thatch, ancient leadwood and teak, blends effortlessly with its surroundings. It has a bar and lounge area, 2 dining areas, upstairs viewing area, lounge and library and swimming pool set in wooden decking overlooking the Save River and Gonarezhou National Park.

Safari Experience

Chilo offers a choice of activities including Safari drives and walks in Gonerezhou National Park.

The Guides are experienced, friendly and professional, offering expert local knowledge. They include Thomas Mutombeni and Clive Stockil, the founding father of Chilo, whose passion for the African bush and conservation has been recognised with numerous local and international awards.  Guests may book a private guide and vehicle including Clive Stockil at additional cost.

With rare species appearing, such as the pangolin, bat-eared fox, suni, roan antelope and cheetah, as well as 448 recorded bird species, Gonarezhou is one of Africa’s last remaining wildlife secrets.

You can also visit Mahenye Village, Chivirira Falls or Chilojo Cliffs.

It provides the visitor with an unrivalled experience of tranquillity within which to explore; be that on foot, in a vehicle or from the luxury of Chilo lodge or tented camp.

It is possible to spend a week without seeing another vehicle even at iconic sites such as the Chilojo Cliffs or Tambahata Pan.
