Flatdogs is an excellent, affordable, owner-managed safari camp overlooking the Luangwa River next to the South Luangwa National Park.

Flatdogs Camp is in a conservation area along the river bank surrounded by natural riverine forest and floodplains so game is found in and around camp.

Flatdogs pride themselves in offering accommodation to rival the up-market lodges, at a fraction of the cost, offering a choice between chalets, authentic African safari tents and the exclusive Jackal-berry Treehouse.

The a la carte restaurant is unique in the safari world, allowing guests to choose their meals each day instead of being served a set menu.

Flatdogs is one of the few family – friendly camps in the Luangwa and children are welcome year round.

There are no fences at camp, so the same animals found on Safaris inside the National Park can also be found here.

The flexible, professional approach of the warm and friendly staff, and enthusiastic and extremely knowledgeable safari guides creates the ultimate safari experience.

Elephant, hippo, giraffe, bushbuck, bushbaby, baboon, vervet monkey and banded mongoose regularly pass through camp and many other species pass through more secretively (leopard, hyaena, porcupine, genet to name a few).
