Lying on the banks of the Zambezi River, this tented camp overlooks an expanse of narrow channels and low set reed islands, with the magnificent Zambezi escarpment as a backdrop.
The epitome of bush chic, Sausage Tree Camp offers a civilized, luxury approach to a bush experience.
In 2018 camp underwent a complete refurbishment and now boasts 7 new Luxury Suites that are double the footprint of the old Signature Tents constructed from canvas & eco man made “wood” and decorated with soft linens, natural wood and modern furniture. Kigelia House is a family unit with 2 ensuite bedrooms connected by an open plan lounge/dining area with private deck & plunge pool.
The general mess area was rebuilt in 2016 to mark camp’s 20th Anniversary and compromises a Dining/Bar/Lounge area with expansive deck overlooking the reed islands in front of camp with a breakfast bar set up overlooking the water and connects through to a 25m lap pool via raised timber walkways.
Each Luxury Suite has been built closer to the river’s edge allowing unrivalled views over the reed islands in front of camp teeming with wildlife. Each suite offers a lounge area, bedroom, indoor bathroom with open air shower, sliding doors leading out onto a large deck complete with outdoor lounge area and private plunge pool.
