This rustic style bush camp built from natural materials is in Kafue National Park, overlooking the Kafue River.

The area is open plains and woodland mix with large granite boulders and with a rocky river.

Mayukuyuku Bush Camp consists of 4 luxury tents with en-suite open air bathrooms, private veranda, hammock and day beds.

The dining room and bar overlook the river and use natural shapes to create these quirky buildings.

There is a gift shop, library with wildlife reference books and games.

Excellent dining with wines and a full bar are on offer.

The Zambian staff run this bush camp to a high standard and enjoy interacting with the guests from guiding to the dining at night.

The ability to charge batteries and cameras is available. There is WiFi in the reception area but no good phone reception in the camp due to its remote location.

Safari Experience

Guests are typically asked in the evening what they would like to do the next day when the guides dine with guests.

Morning begins with a wake up call with tea, coffee and biscuits, depending on the time of year, between 0530-0630.

The guests undertake their activity of choice followed by breakfast back at camp at 1000 hrs.

Guests can then relax in hammocks, stroll the grounds, read, research our reference books until a light lunch of salads, fresh fruits.

Then there is time for more rest and relaxation in the heat of the day.

At 1600 hrs take tea with cakes before leaving at 1700 hrs on a game drive.

Boating or walking activities tend to start earlier at 1600 hrs if it is not too hot.

Refreshments are provided during all activities.

After activities, we return to camp for cocktails/aperitifs around the campfire, followed by a 3 course dinner.
