La Plume Guest House is a 1902 Victorian homestead on a working ostrich, alfalfa and vine farm and set in the tranquil Olifantsrivier Valley on the outskirts of Oudtshoorn.

Surrounded by the spectacular views onto the Swartberg Mountains it is a place of rejuvenation and an unexpected oasis.

Each of the 14 suites and luxury rooms are named after different types of ostrich feathers and are decorated with rich fabrics, polished woods and tanned leathers. All the rooms have well-appointed spacious en-suite bathrooms, air-conditioning, televisions, minibar facilities, dinner on request and tea and coffee facilities. For those looking for a little more privacy the cottage has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, two lounges and a kitchenette and is perfect for families or a small group. The main reception, lounges and dining areas are warm and homely with fireplaces, carefully selected antique furniture and rugs. Dinners are a relaxed country experience of traditional and homemade creations. The swimming pool is surrounded by lush lawns with never-ending views.

Due to the working nature of the farm, guests can enjoy tours by prior arrangement and see first hand the activities of a commercial farm. There is bird watching, hiking, mountain biking, and the Meerkat conservation program and Cango Caves are within easy reach.
