The two Jaci’s Lodges offer an authentic safari experience in the Madikwe Game Reserve well suited to families seeking a real bush experience.

The owners of Jaci’s have constructed two lodges – Safari Lodge and Tree Lodge. Both lodges have their own main lodge area. The safari-style accommodation at Jaci’s Safari Lodge features two exclusive Starbed Suites, six luxury Tented Suites and two private Family Suites.  Jaci’s Tree Lodge consists of eight Treehouse Suites, custom-built on wooden stilts and connected by raised walkways that seem to float high above the ground.

With thatched roofs, low stone walls and canvas panels that roll up, the eight luxury spacious rooms really let the outside in. With earthy African tones and designed with comfort in mind the rooms have a large mosaic bath, outdoor “bush” shower and private deck, under-floor heating, air-conditioning and ceiling fans.

Jaci’s Safari Lodge has two exclusive family suites: the family friendly Nare Suite, accommodating six guests, and the Safari Suite, accommodating up to eight guests and ideal for larger families or groups. Both exclusive suites feature a plunge pool and come with a private guide and game drive vehicle.

The main lodge has been decorated with vibrant colours and African textures, featuring a central lounge with comfortable couches and serving brunch and high tea with views across a stream; the bar, a circular fire pit for social gatherings, two swimming pools, a gym, games room and Masala Spa.

Safari Experience

Activities offered at Jaci’s include morning and afternoon game drives, walking safaris, river walks, a comprehensive children’s program and the exhilarating Starbeds (additional charge).

Jaci’s has a “terrapin hide” in the middle of the waterhole with access for photographers via an underground tunnel.  The hide comes complete with customer Gimpro arms with panoramic heads.

Twice-daily safari game drives into the 75,000-hectare Madikwe Game Reserve are the main draw at Jaci’s Lodges.  Safari game drives take place when the likelihood of sightings is at its highest – early morning and late afternoon.  The morning drive leaves after morning wake up calls with the option of toast & coffee around the fire in the main lodge before departure, while the late afternoon drive usually departs around 3pm to 3.30pm, after high tea – depending on the season. Each game drive lasts for three hours.

Wildlife & Birdlife

Jaci’s Safari Lodge, in the malaria free Madikwe Game Reserve, promises an authentic, friendly and welcoming African safari with exceptional and varied game viewing – featuring the Big Five as well as Wild Dog, Spotted & Brown Hyena, both Black and White Rhino, Giraffe, Red Hartebeest and many more species as well as over 340 species of birds – a wildlife paradise.
