The Norman Carr Cottage is situated on the southern lake shore of Lake Malawi, in the beautiful sheltered bay of Namakoma just 15 km south of Monkey Bay.

This idyllic romantic retreat is right on the beach tucked away under a canopy of  large indigenous trees. It is a perfect hideaway with sun drenched beaches and turquoise waters.

The Norman Carr Cottage consists of 4 executive suites, two courtyard rooms and a two bedroom family cottage.  The Family Cottage is set at the back of the property among the mango trees. It consists of two bedrooms. Both furnished with double beds. The rooms are not en-suite but share an open air shower and separate toilet.  The courtyard rooms are set back a little, but still enjoy a view of the lake.

Safari Experience

Inclusive day’s activities offer sailing, wind surfing, canoeing and a morning snorkelling trip and the feeding of the fish eagles from the owner’s steel launch ‘ Bonnie Alfie’

Snorkelling – There are over 600 species of fish in the lake which makes snorkelling and diving very popular.

Canoeing – is a lovely family activity as the lake is so clear on calm days that one can see the fish swimming under you.

Windsurfing and Water Skiing – Windsurfers and water skis are available and also recommended is an evening cruise with a chilled glass of wine to watch the magical sunset over the lake.

Bird Watching – The bird life is varied and plentiful; just sit in the garden and they will come to you.
