The lodge has been hand-built by the islanders and designed to fit into the environment whilst maximising views and lake acccess. All the luxurious rooms have lake access and/or a private plunge pool.

Kaya Mawa is located on Likoma Island, half way up Lake Malawi, close to the Mozambique mainland and is covered with mango trees and ancient baobabs, encircled by glorious sandy beaches and rocky covers. Likoma Island, surrounded by the pristine waters of Lake Malawi, is widely regarded as having the best diving on the Lake, both in terms of the diversity of fish species and their sheer abundance. Kaya Mawa is a recognised PADI resort and offers wonderful diving.
