This is a two night journey from Cape Town to Pretoria on board this luxurious train that has been synonymous with luxury hospitality since the 1940’s – a journey formally enjoyed by Kings and Presidents.
Comparable to the world’s finest hotels, each suite on board the train offers five star luxurious accommodation with private en-suite bathroom facilities.
Dinner is an elegant affair. Gentlemen are requested to at least wear a jacket / waistcoat.
On Day 2 of your trip The Blue Train arrives at Kimberley Station (1430 hrs) where guests disembark to make a visit to the Kimberley Open Mine Museum that depicts Kimberley in its Victoria Heyday during the diamond rush. Also on display are the “616” (616 carats), the largest uncut diamond in the world, and the “Eureka”, the first diamond discovered in South Africa.
A trip to the Northern Cape Province would be incomplete without a detour to include the Big Hole in Kimberley; it is an opportunity not to be missed. What began as a flat-topped hill is today a gaping hole measuring 215 metres deep, with a surface area of 17 hectares and a perimeter of 1.6 kilometres.
1030 hrs – Welcome to Pretoria! You will disembark and butlers will usher guests to the Arrival Lounge.
You will be met and taken by road transfer to Castello Di Monte Villa where you will spend 1 night in a Classic Suite including Breakfast.
With its pretty tree-lined streets and historic buildings Pretoria has a genteel air about it. The city, named after the Voortrekker leader, is home to the massive Voortrekker Monument, a tribute to the history of these brave men and women and their contribution to South Africa’s pioneering history. The archaeological masterpieces – Sir Herbert Baker’s Union Buildings and the edifices and statues of Church Square – provide a fascinating look into the country’s past, neatly juxtaposed against the current governance of Africa’s powerhouse.
In spring the Jacaranda trees burst into bloom, and the nickname “Jacaranda City” becomes evident. Gorgeous purple flowers bring rows of trees to life and begin to carpet the streets in blankets of colour. As a university town, students know the old adage that if your studying isn’t well in hand by the time the blossoms have fallen, you’ve left it too late!
You will receive a Private Road Transfer from Castello Di Monte to Johannesburg O R Tambo International Airport to catch your flight BA6285 departing at 1125 hrs to Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, arriving 1305 hrs. Flights by Clients own arrangement.
On arrival into Victoria Falls you will clear customs and immigration and will take a road transfer to your hotel.

At Leisure at Victoria Falls Safari Club – time to Tour the Falls and visit the Siduli Hide.
As the land cuts away beneath the ancient Zambezi River, the waters at Victoria Falls plummet dramatically into the Batoka Gorge, over 100 metres below. The angrily churned up spray shoots skyward, painting the landscape in billowing clouds. This striking ‘’smoke that thunders” can be seen for miles, a geographic pointer summoning visitors into its presence.
The vibrant town of Victoria Falls is known as the adventure capital of the world. While the notorious Nyaminyami (Zambezi River God) watches from its mythical depths, and the majestic basalt cliffs allow your passage through the canyon’s exquisite landscape, adventure seekers are assured of a good time. From Grade 5 white-water rafting, bungee jumping and abseiling the amusement never ends.
Or enjoy a sublime Afternoon Tea at the iconic Victoria Falls Hotel! Best to book in advance.
