Botswana is a country of variation and diversity, highly prized for its safaris and game. From the arid Kalahari to lush forest glades, from spectacular herds of elephant and buffalo to prolific populations of predators, Botswana is one of Africa’s top safari destinations. The extensive diversity in ecosystems, landscape and habitats results in a rich abundance of flora and fauna; in particular a rich diversity of 550 bird species. Botswana is also home to some of Africa’s largest free roaming herds of buffalo, antelope, zebra and elephant. Around the national parks is a network of vast private reserves and together these cover approximately 40% of Botswana’s land area. This unfenced pristine wilderness is almost devoid of human imprint as a result of sustainable tourism over recent decades.
You will spend 4 nights on Safari at Kwara Camp in one Tent on a Fully Inclusive basis.
Kwara Camp overlooks a secluded lagoon in the northern Okavango Delta, its unobtrusive structure blending into the surrounding beauty of this exclusive concession. Nestled under towering trees Kwara’s location is convenient to expansive dry grasslands as well as permanent waterways, and this translates as year round water and land activities. Intimate and unassuming, the camp offers a back-to-basics bush comfort, romantic in its simplicity. 9 canvas and wood tents (including one honeymoon tent) are built on raised platforms, and enjoy superb views over the lagoon.
Kwara is known for its consistent sightings of predators, including lion, cheetah, leopard and on rare occasion – white rhino! Herds of elephants also frequent the area, as well as giraffe, zebra, sitatunga, lechwe, impala and hippos.
Enjoy day and night game drives through the reserve, and boating and mokoro trips in search of the Delta’s wild inhabitants. At the end of a busy day, socialise around a camp fire, the sounds of the bush an accompaniment to shared experiences.
Depart Kwara by light aircraft to Kwando Lagoon airstrip.
The Lagoon area has a well-earned reputation for big game and large herds of elephant and buffalo, especially in the winter months, when herds of up to a thousand are not uncommon. This vast concentration of game attracts the attention of large predators. The Lagoon wild dog pack regularly den close to the camp and the excellent viewing opportunities have led to Lagoon’s reputation as the place to see wild dog in Botswana.
Seasonally large herds of elephant drink at the river bank near to the camp in full view of the main deck, while playful spotted – necked otters are commonly seen performing in the water.
You will spend 3 nights at Kwando Lagoon Camp on a Fully Inclusive basis in one Luxury Tent. Raised on wooden platforms the 8 canvas and thatch tents are spacious and traditional, with Persian carpets and baths with views.
Lagoon is perched on the banks of the wild Kwando River, nestled beneath towering ebony and marula trees. The heavily forested site is home to a wide variety of birds and mammals, while elephant and hippo are normally visible from the camp. The stunning views and close proximity of wildlife all contribute to the pervading sense of calm at Lagoon.
Activities – You will have a driver and tracker team for walks, game drives, fishing & evening boat cruises. Camp can operate off road and at night.
You will have a shared road transfer to Kwando Lebala Camp.
Lebala is situated in the south of the Kwando concession, adjacent to the head waters of the Linyanti marshes that form the boundary between Botswana and Namibia. The southerly flowing Kwando river disappears into the vast marshland before emerging as the Linyanti river.
This special ecosystem is home to a wide variety of Africa’s plains game such as zebra, wildebeest, impala, giraffe and tsessebe and also provides refuge to lechwe, waterbuck and the shy sitatunga. Lebala is also known for frequent sightings of wild dog, which have denned near to the camp in recent years.
Lebala means ‘wide open spaces’ in Setswana and the scenery is dominated by vast plains with scattered palms and tree islands backed by wooded savannahs. This wild expanse contrasts with the casual understated luxury of the camp itself.
You will spend 3 nights at Kwando Lebala Camp on a Fully Inclusive basis in one Luxury Tent. Spacious and custom designed, the 8 tents are raised on decks and feature private verandahs and lovely views. All operate on solar power.
Between exciting game drives in open vehicles or (seasonal) walks through the reserve, relax in the comfort of the traditional wood and thatch main camp, or enjoy wholesome meals at the communal table. Cool off in the pool with its beautiful vistas across the plains, keeping watch for the animals which call this reserve home – in particular, elephants and a good concentration of predators.

Lebala in Setswana means “open plains” which aptly describes the extensive grasslands and seasonal floodplains of the Linyanti marshes. This well established camp has an excellent reputation as being a great place for a safari.
Lebala has a reputation for predator action with lions known to hunt and kill mega fauna like buffalo and hippos. A serious safari goer’s paradise.
