On arrival into Windhoek,you will be met by our local representative and be transferred to the Am Weinberg Boutique Hotel for an overnight stay including breakfast.
We will arrange for the vehicle handover at your guesthouse where you will be provided with all of your travel documents and tips given for your trip ahead.

After breakfast, pop into town for any supplies that you might need and then depart heading south from Windhoek – your self-drive adventure begins!
Windhoek to Sossusvlei – 350 km – approx 5 to 6 hours
Your self-drive will reveal the transition from Kalahari thornveld to the true desert of the Namib. Travel either via the beautiful Spreetshoogte or Remhoogte Pass, both showcasing the natural beauty of Namibia.
Spend 2 nights at Hoodia Desert Lodge, fully inclusive. The lodge is named after the native flowering cactus that nestles in the Sossusvlei Dunes and is surrounded by majestic mountains on the banks of the Tsauchab River in south west Namibia.
Spend today making the most of your location within the Namib Desert’s largest dunes – Big Daddy is the highest at 325 m (1,066 ft). It’s worth rising early to see the sunrise transform the landscape.
Head to the entrance to Sossusvlei, the Sesriem Gate, Dune 45, Big Daddy, Elim Dune, Dead Vlei and the Sesriem Canyon.

Depart after breakfast and head north to Solitaire, then west crossing the Tropic of Capricorn, through the Gaub and Kuiseb Canyons via the Namib Gravel Plains to the coast either via Walvis Bay to Swakopmund, or (recommended) detour via Ganab to the Welwitschia Plains and Moon Landscape. The drive last around six hours to Swakopmund, a picturesque historic town on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean.

Enjoy a leisurely afternoon Swakopmund with its aquarium, museum, shops and galleries.
The Namibian coastline is generally known as The Skeleton Coast due to the barren areas, ship wrecks and, in days gone by, whale skeletons left on the beach.
One full day is set aside for this lovely area where Swakopmund and Walvis Bay offer a wide range of activities such as:

Swakopmund to Damaraland is a 7 to 8 hour drive – 445 km
Head north along the Skeleton Coast, via Henties Bay to visit the Cape Cross seal colony. Along the way, stop at the Lichen Fields as well as the ship wreck between the colourful small town of Wlotskasbaken and Henties Bay. Backtrack to Henties Bay and head inland through wide open plains to Uis, then north to the Twyfelfontein area.
Stay for 2 Nights at Mowani Mountain Camp including all meals with two activities and return Twyfelfontein transfers.
Climb into an open-air vehicle and experience the rush of Africa. Mowani’s local guides share with their guests an intimate knowledge and respect for the land that they have built up over a lifetime. With new insight into local traditions, you will come to fully appreciate the geology, botany and wildlife of the area. Local villagers are welcoming and keen to share their experiences.

After breakfast, drive east towards Khorixas stopping at the Petrified Forest en-route from Khorixas head further east along the tar road to Outjo and then north to your lodge which is situated very close to the southern entrance of Etosha, the Anderson Gate.

Etosha is one of Africa’s great game parks. With 114 species of mammal and 340 species of birds you are sure to see a great variety of wildlife on your safari.
Etosha (south) – Etosha (east) a full day’s game drive through the park. From one side to the other side of the park is a full day game drive as you drive slowly east stopping at numerous waterholes along the way
Take a slow drive in the morning and ending for lunch at the Halali Resort which is half way between Okaukuejo and the eastern exit gate or take a picnic lunch along and stop off at a waterhole, sit in the shade and watch the game come to you.

Okonjima Bush Camp lies in a 20,000 hectare nature Reserve, south of Otjiwarongo surrounded by undulating hills and grassy plains. This is the base for the AfriCat Foundation, a non-profit organisation set up to conserve and protect Namibia’s threatened cheetah, leopard and other wild carnivores. From this small camp, guests are invited to learn about Namibia’s big cats, with excellent opportunities to view them at close quarters. Head out with an experienced guide for a fantastic opportunity to spot the cheetah and leopard.

Make an early morning rise for a quick snack before joining the morning activity, which will be to visit the AfriCat Foundation or for a drive in the animal enclosure, which is more a game reserve
Back to the lodge for a hearty Namibian breakfast before departure.
