On this incredible wildlife journey, explore two of Zambia’s premier parks – this itinerary is available May to November.
Arrive in Lusaka and meet your flight to Mfuwe, gateway to the South Luangwa National Park.
At Mfuwe Airport you will be met by a 4×4 vehicle for the road transfer through local villages and into the South Luangwa to Mchenja Camp where adventure meets luxury!
Spend 4 nights fully inclusive of all meals and game viewing activities.
The South Luangwa has it all. The meandering Luangwa River, stunning scenery, big game, knowledgeable guides and a choice of intimate elegant lodges and remote bush camps.
Mchenja Camp is located in Zambia’s Premier wildlife destination – the South Luangwa National Park. Set under huge ancient ebony trees on the banks of a broad section of the Luangwa River, Mchenja has a lovely relaxed atmosphere with sweeping river views.
Guests staying at Mchenja can choose if they wish to view their wildlife on foot or from a game viewing vehicle. In addition to the ebony grove at camp there are two more stunning groves close by and game viewing in the area is superb, with night drives very worthwhile.
Expect world class predator action, endemic species, large herds of elephants and superb sightings of wild dogs, leopards and lions.
Day 5 – Return to the airport for a short flight to the Lower Zambezi National Park. A guide will meet you at the airstrip and take you back to camp by way of a game drive, stopping to see animals along the way.
Spend 3 Nights at Chongwe Camp, fully inclusive.
The Lower Zambezi National Park may be one of Zambia’s smallest parks, but it is stunning and offers a wide range of safari activities.
Chongwe Camp is located on the confluence of the Chongwe and Zambezi Rivers set against a beautiful mountainous backdrop, the camp offers some the best river views in the Lower Zambezi.
During your stay, enjoy an impressive variety of safari activities, created for the ultimate exploration of this magnificent African paradise. By land, you can enjoy game drives and walking safaris, or take to the rivers and explore with boat cruises, canoeing safaris and tiger-fishing. Back in camp, a brand new wildlife hide is great for photography, especially rare nocturnal creatures.
Depart Chongwe Camp with a flight back to Lusaka to connect with your flight home.
Alternatively, continue the adventure with a flight to Livingstone to experience the Victoria Falls.

With only five specially designed octagonal canvas and thatched chalets built on concrete bases, and one two-bedroom family unit, Mchenja is an intimate affair. The beautiful central chitenje (lounge) is built around one of the old fallen ebony trees, open-sided and thatched. Brunch is taken in the shady lounge and dinner is more often served on the river bank under the stars. The camp also boasts a small plunge pool under thatch in the camps communal area, also under thatch.
