On arrival into Victoria Falls Airport after clearing immigration, you be met by your driver for your private road transfer to Ilala Lodge your home for the next 2 nights in 1 Standard Suite including Breakfast.
The vibrant town of Victoria Falls is known as the adventure capital of the world, and if your eyes light up at the thought of conquering the “Stairway to Heaven” or “The Terminator” in a raft, then this is the place for you. While the notorious Nyaminyami (Zambezi River God) watches from its mythical depths, and the majestic basalt cliffs allow your passage through the canyon’s exquisite landscape, adventure seekers are assured of a good time. From Grade 5 white-water rafting, bungee jumping, abseiling, helicopter flight of the angels, sunset Zambezi cruises conservation visits to the Wildlife Trust or a game drive – the list is endless.
We can of course provide a full list of activities and arrange these in advance.
Depart Victoria Falls by private road transfer to Botswana. You will clear customs and meet your light aircraft at Kasane for your flight into the Okavango, the world’s largest inland delta.
As old as time, the seasonal flood from the Angola Highlands is the heartbeat of Botswana. Seeping along the panhandle and into the largest inland delta system in the world, the water creates a uniquely beautiful National Heritage Site, the incoming tide of life bringing with it birth, transformation and replenishment. These ancient, cyclical changes provide an exceptional safari experience and the area supports vast herds of elephant, buffalo and hippo, as well as numerous antelope, giraffe, zebra and the ever present predators.
You will be met at the airstrip by your guide and driven in a 4×4 vehicle to Mapula Lodge to spend 3 nights in 1 Family Cottage on a fully inclusive basis.
Mapula Lodge lies in a private 12 000 hectare concession where the Selinda Spillway winds its way through the reserve on its journey to the Linyanti and Chobe rivers. Overlooking a reed-fringed lagoon, home to a resident pod of hippos, the open spaces and tranquil scenery are a balm to the soul. The landscape is a mix of dry savannah, seasonal floodplains and permanent waterways.
Camp activities include: morning and late afternoon game drives, boat and mokoro excursions (water level dependant), fishing (April-November).
After a morning game drive, depart camp by light aircraft to your next camp, Tubu Tree to spend 3 nights in 1 Family tent on a fully inclusive basis.
Tubu Tree Camp is built in traditional style, with elevated wooden walkways connecting eight tents on raised platforms, each with picturesque vistas of the floodplain from a private front deck.
Day and night game drives explore productive mopane and acacia woodlands, with Tubu Tree being well known for its leopard sightings. Wildlife movements vary with seasonal water levels, meaning that no two Tubu experiences are ever the same – but all are equally wonderful.
Located on Hunda Island, that is known for its concentrations of game and offers both spectacular wildlife viewing on land, and tranquil adventures on the water. This combination of activities makes Tubu a complete Delta adventure.
Camp activities include: day and night game drives, bush walks (seasonal and subject to availability of a walking guide), boat and mokoro excursions (water level permitting), birding and fishing (Mar-Dec).
