Chinzombo is Zambia's Premier 5 Star Safari Camp and located in 24 hectares of private Luangwa River frontage with direct access ...
Nestled within the shade of ancient trees on a wildlife rich ridge, this wildly luxurious camp retains its bush feel with grass and canvas walls and spacious living areas that melt into exquisite, tranquil surroundings. Chinzombo brings levels of comfort, style and elegance previously unseen to the Luangwa Valley.
The six Chinzombo villas (with one designed for a family of five) appear to float over the landscape. The design is ground breaking and original but the simple use of steel, natural materials, locally produced leather, reed work and canvas, lack of concrete or brick and the recycled composite timber floors complement the wilderness perfectly.
Spacious living areas comprise large, cooled bedrooms, massive luxurious bathrooms, WiFi and private plunge pools on shady decks overlooking the Luangwa. This is a super-luxurious, exclusive camp that retains its bush feel. A winding foot path connects the villas and lounge, dining, bar and fire pit area through the shade of the surrounding msikzi trees. Décor is simple and minimal, using raw linen, timber, copper and hand-made crockery that has a respectful nod to Chinzombo’s past history and pioneer of the South Luangwa safari experience, Norman’s, legacy.
Mchenja Bush Camp is a luxurious and stylish tented camp located in the northern sector of South Luangwa's National Park. Set ...
Set under huge ebony trees on the banks of a broad section of the Luangwa River, the camp has a lovely relaxed atmosphere with sweeping river views.
With only five specially designed octagonal canvas and thatched chalets built on concrete bases, and one two-bedroom family unit, Mchenja is an intimate affair. Simple but wonderfully maintained, the chalets are well sized and include large honeymoon size beds, an indoor Victorian-style bath with a river view and open air but private outdoor facilities featuring flush WC, basin and shower.
The beautiful central chitenje (lounge) is built around one of the old fallen ebony trees, open-sided and thatched. Brunch is taken in the shady lounge and dinner is more often served on the river bank under the stars. The camp also boasts a small plunge pool under thatch in the camps communal area, also under thatch.

Sindabezi Island is an idyllic, exclusive camp on a privately owned isle in the middle of the Zambezi River and is ...
Sindabezi is a top eco lodge and has only five open-sided thatched cottages on wooden decks, allowing guests to soak up the sights and sounds of the African bush in the perfect, pristine setting. Sindabezi has zero grid dependence, so rooms are romantically lit with hurricane lamps, candles and starlight. Despite its remote island setting, the chalets are luxuriously comfortable with king size beds, white cotton linen, mosquito nets, plush carpets, en-suite bathrooms with vanity table, free-standing bath and shower, and a private deck from which to soak up the birds and wildlife. The cottages have solar heated showers, and distinctive ‘loos with a view’ set along private wooden walkways. The main camp is set on the sand, with comfortable seating, reading and dining areas and a raised deck in the trees for catching the afternoon breeze. At night a trail of hurricane lamps lights your way back to the chalet across the soft sand.
Sindabezi is located some 17 kms upstream from Victoria Falls. Access to the Falls is from the Zambian Side at Livingstone, a journey of about one hour. There are views across the flood plains of the Zambezi and into the nearby National Park where game such as elephant, impala and wildebeest come to quench their thirst on the banks of the river.
Activities include river cruises, guided walks and fishing trips.
