Shinde is an intimate camp at the edge of Shinde Lagoon nestled on a lush palm island in the heart of the northern Okavango Delta.  The area teems with a great variety of animals and bird life.

Accommodation is in eight classic safari tents, incorporating a spacious bathroom with a large walk-in shower and luxurious fittings. Wide sliding doors leading onto the extended front decks afford breath-taking views over the open floodplains and the waterways of the Delta.

Safari Experience

Big bull Elephants come to eat marula during the season right in camp. Hyaenas come on a daily basis to camp.

The private Shinde concession allows guided walks, mokoro excursions and night drives in addition to day game drives and motorboat trips.

Year round water activities include fishing.

Fly or spin fishing is available throughout the year (with the exception of January and February), with excellent bream fishing from May to September and superb chances of landing Tiger fish during September to mid November.

Shinde offers exclusive motorboat access to the Gadikwe Heronry.

Wildlife & Birdlife

General game includes giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, kudu, impala, Tsessebe, reedbuck and predators such as lions and leopards.

There are frequent sightings of the rarely spotted sitatunga antelope.
