Stanley’s Camp is located in a 105,000 hectares private concession on the southern tip of Chief’s Island, in an amphitheatre of ebony and sausage trees.

It enjoys expansive views over seasonal floodplains. Known for its highly recommendable “Living with Elephants” experience, Stanley’s offers the unique opportunity to get up close and personal with the magnificent giants of the bush.

The area also boasts massive buffalo herds – sometimes in excess of 2,000 animals. 10 luxury canvas safari tents sit on elevated platforms each with views over the floodplains and private decks.

From the rim flow swimming pool, guests can watch giraffe and other plains game march across the savannah. This is one of the best places in the world for seeing buffalo in large numbers, with herds often exceeding 2,000.

Central guest spaces include a dining area, Explorer lounge and outdoor bar with beautiful landscape vistas. Meals are served at a variety of locations and private dinners can be organised on request. Perhaps cool off in the pool in between exciting game drives, elephant interaction, mokoro excursions (usually between Mar-Oct, subject to water levels) and bush walks (subject to the availability of a walking guide).
