Built under a canopy of trees, the camp commands excellent panoramas over a vast floodplain. 9 large tented suites (including a family unit) are elevated so that views out towards the floodplain can be appreciated from the veranda and pergola, as well from the deck with its private plunge pool. Stylish, contemporary interiors comprise a sitting room, separate bedroom and bathroom, indoor and outdoor showers and a bath with copper and brass finishings, all unashamedly luxurious.
Socialise around a blazing fire, in boutique central spaces or settle on the deck sipping beverages and enjoying superb “armchair game viewing” (water-levels depending) over the busy area in front of the camp. A la carte meals are served in the dining room along with a fine selection of wines, or in the traditional boma under the stars, while guests are serenaded by the Mombo Choir.

Between exciting game drives during the day, perhaps book a relaxing spa treatment, or a scenic helicopter flight (both optional extra expenses). Listen to rhino conservation talks about the pioneering rhino reintroduction project, explaining what it takes to move and protect these endangered species, and take advantage of the night skies to do some star-gazing. There is the possibility of seeing rhino on game experiences while at Mombo.
Large concentrations of plains game often occur in front of camp and guests may view a variety of animals without even leaving the veranda.
