Safari Experience

Activities  are varied. The reserves extensive network of roads makes for perfect game- and night driving terrain, and off-roading is permitted due to the exclusive use the owners enjoy.

The lodge also operates a highly acclaimed Bushman (San) experience. ʻBraamʼ Badenhorst, one of the owners, grew up in the Kalahari with the San, and several of his old playmates live on the reserve and are available to take guests on a fascinating walk.

The terrain appears to the uninitiated to offer little in the way of sustenance, but is exposed as a treasure-trove of fruits, berries, tubers, barks, herbs and flowers used in cooking, medicine, ceremonies and for a plethora of other purposes – and this before we turn to the mammals, birds, reptiles and insects that form part of the fascinating part of their desert world.

One of the major strengths of the Safari Experience here is the the fact that the Bushmen can track game alongside the guides.  Guests find this process fascinating.

Wildlife & Birdlife

The famous Kalahari Lions, leopard, cheetah, brown hyenas, giraffes, warthogs, jackals, chacma baboons, and several species of antelope (including the eland, gemsbok, springbok, hartebeest, steenbok, kudu, and duiker), and many species of birds and reptiles can be found here.

Added Extras

Both the Safari experience with the ‘San’ bushmen, and the cultural aspect of meeting the Bushman. It really is the best of both.
