A childhood spent in Zimbabwe instilled in me a lifelong appreciation of the country, people and wildlife of the region. Safari Addics was born from clients using our short haul business Weekend a la Carte requesting me to arrange trips to Africa. Our mission is to put the word "real" back into safaris and give clients the true experience of Africa. I am often asked which my favourite place in Africa is. I started to write a list and decided that there was a case for everywhere I had ever visited. That is the beauty of being on Safari as each day is an adventure no matter where you are. Botswana, Zambia and Zimbabwe offer the perfect blend of pristine national parks and excellent guiding standards to allow us to deliver some truly great journeys in the region. I hope we get a chance to create a Once in a Lifetime journey for you!
Katharine’s love of Africa began 18 years ago with a night time crossing of the Limpopo River in the cable car at Pont Drift in South Africa. It was a journey into the unknown bush of Botswana and one that revealed the sightings of a leopard successfully hunting and the thrill of being surrounded by a herd of 300 elephants. She was hooked! Having lived in France, Amsterdam and Dubai and travelled extensively worldwide, her passion for Africa draws her back year after year allowing her to combine her twin passions for conservation and photography. Her extensive experience has taught her what makes a good safari and she enjoys developing itineraries for our clients to give them the same great African experiences that have thrilled her over the years.
Boswell is a wild bull African Elephant who lives in the Lower Zambezi Valley. Boswell is a legend and has even featured in Africa Geographic.
At around 40 years of age Boswell is one of a select few bulls that have perfected the art of standing erect to browse on the African Winterthorn tree (Faidherbia albida).
